About So What's For Dinner?

"So What's For Dinner?" is not your run of the mill cookbook application and, to my knowledge, is unlike any cookbook out there today. I've made a database of over 150 recipes, along with ingredient information, nutrition information, cooking times, and a ton of other data, from scratch.

What makes this cookbook so special is that I then introduced a search feature, to accompany that database, where you start by selecting ingredients that you either already have on hand, or are maybe just craving. The application will then pull up a list of recipes that you can create with those chosen ingredients, Every item in the list will also give you match percentages along with a list of ingredients that you are missing.

Once you choose a recipe from the list, you will then be taken to a somewhat standardized cookbook page. This page will display ingredient amounts, in both US and metric units, prep and cooking times, descriptions, tips, adjustable serving sizes, and interactive nutrition information.

Keeping in mind that a lot of people simply may not have, or be able to access, certain ingredients I've allowed the search feature to create exceptions for certain stuff in the database. The search feature will create minor substitution decisions, for certain ingredients, such as using White Wine Vinegar in put of Rice Wine Vinegar. These stuff are limited and are things that most people would never miss, or notice, when compared to how the end effect of the recipe might typically look or taste. This was done so that the average user can pull up as a lot of recipes as possible with the available ingredients they provided to the search.

The application also features a regular old fashioned cookbook with recipes I've gathered over the course of 30+ years. Recipes I've inherited, been taught, gifted, traded, along with famous recipes I've perfected and used at my own restaurant years ago. This application also contains extra pages for ingredient substitutions, common spice combinations, and USDA cooking temperatures, along with random tip and opinions.

Finally, this application does not have any ads, no in application purchases, does not collect any of your personal data, no fluff, no nonsense.
